Future Plans

Far West House

Family Cabins

Our next phase of development will be private, rustic family cabins for your overnight stays.  You will be able to enhance you pioneer experience by working in our subsistence garden or feeding the animals.  We presently have horses, chickens, and a pig.

Far West Pageant

In the meantime, we are working on the production of a new, original pageant to be held on the grounds the last two weeks of July 2009, beginning the 23rd.  The pageant celebrates the prophecies and promises of the latter-day restoration with rich color, music, and dance.

Far West Conference Center

When Far West House Conference Center is built (pictured above) it will be the central gathering area of Far West Outdoor Museum.  Multiple guest rooms, and a genealogy research center will be among the many things that will make your stay exciting. Home cooked meals, personal service, and friendly atmosphere will make your stay in Far West memorable.

Since the Trustees are diligently passionate about genealogy, they will be happy to help you in your search.  The state of the art Learning Center and well stocked Library will allow you to research many different aspects of family and Church history.

The center will be of tremendous value, not only to our out-of-town visitors, but an immense asset to our community.  It will be available for receptions, reunions, conventions and symposiums.

Brigham Young Barn

We have plans for the reconstruction of Brigham Young's New York barn.  It will be a gathering place for barn dances, receptions, family reunions, community events, and whatever other shin-digs we (or you) can think up.

Please Contribute

None of this will be possible without the help of many passionate and able people.  If you have any historical books, artifacts, or information, or if you would like to contribute your talents or financial means, contact us to join FWHS
